Access Control & Electrified Door Hardware

Access control only works when the door hardware works with it. We install and service the electrified hardware at the opening, including strikes, maglocks, readers and request-to-exit devices, and make sure it cooperates with automatic operators and exit devices.

Door-side access control hardware

The reader is only one part of a secure opening. The locking hardware, power supply, request-to-exit device and door position all need to work together so authorized people get in, everyone can get out and the door secures behind them.

  • Electric strikes and electrified exit device trim
  • Magnetic locks with code-compliant release
  • Card and fob readers and keypads
  • Request-to-exit sensors and buttons
  • Door position monitoring

Integrating access control with automatic doors

When an accessible automatic door is also access controlled, the sequence matters: the lock must release before the operator opens, and the actuator must only work when the door is unlocked or a credential is presented. We set up that sequence so the door is both secure and accessible.

Coordinating with your security provider

Many buildings already have an access control system managed by a security integrator. We can work alongside them at the door hardware level, or quote complete door-side hardware for new and renovated openings.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

More answers on our FAQ page.

Can access control be added to an automatic door?

Yes. The lock, operator and actuator are wired so the door unlocks before it opens and stays secure when it should.

Electric strike or maglock?

It depends on the door, frame, egress requirements and how the opening is used. We recommend the option that suits the opening after assessment.

Do you work with our existing security company?

Yes. We often handle the door hardware while the security integrator manages the system software and credentials.
